Историческая справка
Dyoma (Bashkir: Дим, Күгиҙел) is a river in the Orenburg Oblast and the Republic Bashkortostan, Russia. It is a left-bank tributary of the Belaya River (basin of the Kama River).
According to the assumption of Kamalov A.A., the origin of the river’s name lies in the Bashkir word Dim, which means whirlpool, or deep waters. The other name, Kyk-idel (Bashkir: Күгиҙел) can be literally translated as “blue (sky) river”. It is a hydronym of a rare frequency, which consists of two parts – name of some color combined with the word “river” itself. There are some examples of such names in Povolzhsky region, such as Agidel – white river and Karaidel – black river.
Dyoma district is located on Dyoma River Creek (this is where the origin of the district name roots), on the left bank of the Belaya River. It is a residential area in the south of Ufa, which became a part of the city in the 1944. It was founded with the same name in 1887 and originally functioned as a crossing loop on the railroad Samara-Ufa-Zlatoust-Chelyabinsk. Back then, there were only three railroad acceptance lines and a treating plant nearby. In 1930s, the station started developing, and in the 1940s, its economical and logistical roles increased even more. Dyoma remains a railroad district, where the largest railway hub is located, including the Dyoma railway station itself, and two – engine and car – houses.
