• About the project

Running City is an urban orienteering event focused on making regional ethnography more informative and competitive.

Event participants are to find specified objects in the City as fast as possible. Competitors can use different modes of transportation to move around the City: public or private means of transportation, bicycles, inline skates - or just walk. Modes of transportation and course time depend on the category chosen by the team.

Since 2oo0, Running City events are held every year in Saint-Petersburg, Moscow, Yekaterinburg and Kiev. Up to 5,500 people take part in the competition.

  • Day/Night in the City

In spring 2oo7, a rogaining competition was held in Saint-Petersburg - A Day In The City. At the start, competitors receive a map with marked checkpoints. The objective is to visit as much checkpoints as possible within the allotted time. Starting May 2o1o, A Day In The City is part of the St.Petersburg Rogaining Cup.

  • PoBeGi

Since 2oo7, Running City started another project — PoBeGi, which is an urban orienteering event held in different cities of Russia and other countries.

  • Volunteering

Only volunteers make our events happen. They welcome competitors at check-in, hand out legends at checkpoints and greet winners at the finish gate. Volunteers can also test courses, process event results and help us in the off-season time.

    Join us, you are welcome!
